Dear tired momma,

 

Do you feel exhausted all the time? Do you feel like you’re running on fumes and counting on your cup of coffee to get you through the next few hours? Do you look in the mirror and scarcely recognize yourself anymore? 

If this sounds like you, then you might be interested in what happened to me.

However, before we go any farther, I need to tell you something. Pretend for a moment that we are sitting down together over a cup of coffee or a delicious lunch. I want you to look me in the eyes and really pay attention when I tell you this. You are doing a good job. Take a breath, and let that sink in. Not only are you working to meet the many demands of daily life; you are also taking the time to seek help for yourself. Despite what areas of your life may or may not be up to par right now, the fact remains. No matter what happens from here, I want you to know that I am proud of you. 

Ok, where was I? Oh yes. A few years ago, my husband and I welcomed our beautiful little girl into our home. Like any mom knows, children are incredible and so fun…and they are also a lot of work and can be completely exhausting. When my daughter was a little over a year old, I started to notice that I not only felt tired all the time, but my body was also starting to show signs of exhaustion. I was tired all the time, my hair was falling out excessively, I was craving sweets constantly, I wasn’t sleeping well, my body was holding onto extra weight, and I felt like I was getting sick all the time. 

I was so sick and tired of it all. I felt so frustrated. I had always prioritized health, but now it felt like my body was failing me. I wanted to enjoy life again, but between long hours at work and the many demands of being a mom and taking care of our home, I didn’t know what more to do.

I kept looking for answers. I knew my body was trying to tell me it needed something. I was sick of the many restrictive approaches I had tried in the past, and I knew that if I were to pursue any lifestyle shift, it would have to be sustainable. I grew more and more discouraged until, suddenly, I stumbled upon my answer – the missing piece of the puzzle. 

I started to learn how the metabolism affects every area of health, including hormonal balance. I learned how to support my metabolism, especially during times of stress, and I began to understand why many of the restrictive diets I had tried in the past didn’t work for me for very long.

As I began to implement the strategies I was learning, my cravings began to decrease, baby hairs started popping up all over my head, I began to wake up feeling rested, I began to feel happier in my skin, I stopped getting sick so frequently, and all my other markers of health gradually started improving. And the best part? I didn’t have to follow a crazy restrictive diet! In fact, I was putting way more energy into adding nutritious foods in than I was to avoiding anything.

Program Details

The purpose of this program is to support you to overcome your sense of overwhelm and gain back your energy so you can show up powerfully for yourself and your family. 

  • In this 12-week interactive program, you will receive six instructional lessons and six 30-50 minute coaching sessions. 
  • During each coaching session, we will help you to create realistic and attainable steps to help you reach your health goals and create sustainable change.

Listed below is a more in-depth look at what each lesson will discuss.

STEP 1: Focus on real food

How to feel confident with your food choices.

We will cover a big picture approach to food and why what goes into our bodies matters. We will also talk about how to use priorities to reduce your sense of overwhelm.

You’ll learn: 

  • A whole foods approach to eating
  • Which foods are most supportive to stressed bodies
  • A seasonal approach to eating
  • How to use priorities to reduce overwhelm

 

STEP 2: Support your metabolism

How to give your body the support it needs to thrive.

A thriving metabolism drastically affects our sense of vitality. We get into the nitty gritty in this step. We will also talk about habit formation. If we want to see change take place in our lives, we need to set new habits in place. 

You’ll learn: 

  • Specifics on timing
  • Specifics on how much your body needs to thrive
  • How to balance your blood sugar throughout the day
  • How to start implementing new habits without creating overwhelm

 

STEP 3: Supercharge with nutrition

How to increase your energy and your resilience to life’s stressors.

A nourished body is a resilient body. While we cannot get rid of all stressors in life, we can increase our resilience towards them. We will also talk about our own innate intuition and why listening to our bodies matters.

You’ll learn: 

  • Which foods contain the nutrients and minerals your body needs to thrive
  • Simple recipes to see big improvements
  • The importance of listening to your body

 

STEP 4: Quiet the chaos

How to find calm in the overwhelm.

Stress can show up in many different forms. In this step, we talk about how to recognize those stressors, and what to do about them. We will also discuss prayer and meditation and why they make a difference.

You’ll learn: 

  • How to recognize stressors in your life
  • How to manage the stressors so they don’t manage you
  • How prayer and meditation can affect our wellness

 

STEP 5: Take time to rest

How to rest well so you can show up with energy.

Sleep is so important for our energy. While we may not always get to have uninterrupted sleep, we will talk about some tips to maximize the time we can have. We will also talk about how to incorporate restorative activities into our routines. Finally, we will talk about mindset, why it makes a difference to how we feel, and how we can adjust it.

You’ll learn:

  • Tips for getting restful sleep
  • How to create times of intentional rest in your day
  • How our mindset can affect our overall sense of wellness and what you can do to adjust it

 

STEP 6: Exercise for energy

How to use exercise to increase your energy and support your metabolism.

Not all exercise is beneficial, especially when we are in stressful seasons. We will talk about some types of exercise that may be most beneficial for you in this season. 

You’ll learn: 

  • Which forms of exercise will be most beneficial for you
  • Why certain forms of exercise may be better for you than others in this season
  • The importance of the seasonality of life and why giving yourself grace is important

I loved the accountability! Having someone check in a few times a month to ask how things are going and what hasn’t been going well was so helpful. I’m also really thankful that Christy was able to process some of my goals with me so that I could better understand what was going to be most realistic for me.
